Leadership Westshore Celebrates Gallery Opening
TAMPA, FL (July 15, 2011) - Members of the Westshore Alliance's Leadership Westshore program will celebrate the opening of the MacDonald Training Center's "Through My Eyes" Art Gallery on July 21 from 4 to 7 p.m. The gallery is located at 5420 W. Cypress Street, Tampa. The event is free and open to the public. Reservations can be made at http://tinyurl.com/ArtMTC.
The 2011 Leadership Westshore participants raised in excess of $40,000 in cash and in-kind donations to construct the gallery which will provide a permanent place for developmentally disabled artists to showcase and market their art work. Each year, participants in the Leadership Westshore program select a local charity as the beneficiary of a legacy project. Members of the class raise funds and provide sweat equity in order to complete a project that will leave a lasting legacy and allow the local charity to advance its mission.

The Westshore Alliance's Leadership Westshore program is designed to prepare local business leaders for leadership roles within our community. Through the course of a six month program, participants interface with Tampa's top government, civic and corporate decision makers. Over the last 12 years, participants have raised in excess of $150,000 to benefit local non-profit agencies including HARC, MacDonald Training Center, Alpha House, the Children's Home and the Children's Cancer Center.
