TAMPA, FL (July 1, 2010) - The Westshore Alliance Board of Directors passed a resolution at their June 30th meeting opposing Amendment 4 and encouraging citizens to vote "No on 4" this November.
The Westshore Alliance Officers, Executive Committee and Board of Directors discussed the amendment at length over the last several months and believe it would have serious negative effects on Floriida's economy. Amendment 4 proposes to require voter approval of all changes to local comprehensive land-use plans. Currently those changes are approved by city and county elected officials with the input from professional land planners and citizens and businesses that would be affected by the changes.
The "No on 4 Campaign" is being led by Citizens for Lower Taxes and a Stronger Economy, Inc. Their website, www.florida2010.org, discusses Amendment 4 and the implications for Florida's economy.
